Mercedes Aguirre – Success Story

Mercedes is constantly upgrading herself. As a newcomer from Mexico City she started as a production worker in a bakery and then became a teller with Scotia Bank. She presently works as a secretary at Operation Friendship Seniors’ Society.

Originally trained as a public accountant in Mexico, she is reluctant to put herself through school again to become certified. Instead she is looking for her own business to have greater control over her working life.

She loves the Entrepreneurial Program and hopes to gain enough skills to become self-employed. She has great praise for the business program, the professional and knowledgeable Instructor and the supportive staff at Action for Healthy Communities (AHC).

In her spare time, Mercedes grows a flower and vegetable garden, and enjoys spending time with her family.
